CERV'S Citizen Action Workshop Series
CERV'S Citizen Action Workshop Series
Funded grants from the Community Foundation for Monterey County and in-kind contributions from the Central Coast Children’s Foundation and CERV volunteers.
CERV organized, marketed, conducted and evaluated the outcomes and impact of four seminars in 2013. Co-sponsored by city Fire Departments (Monterey, Marina, Seaside) and CERT programs (Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel, Marina, Seaside). The workshops focused on Evacuation and Sheltering in Place (April and October) and Emergency Preparedness for People with Disabilities and Functional Challenges (May and September). Lead Instructors were Mike Brassfield and Mike Castaneda. Each workshop was attended by CERT team members, experts in emergency preparedness and the general public. We had over 100 participants from 16 zip codes.
